A decent rod to look at that is just under your budget at 139.99 is the okuma guide select 7'11" heavy. Rated 15-40#. It's a little shorter then a jig stick but they really cast well. I've found that jigsticks are a little awkward for me from a kayak and like feel of a heavy bait caster rod better.

Okay, thanks. Ill take a look at that one as well. I was also looking at a Shimano Teramar 7'11", Heavy, 30-80lb powerpro, 1-4oz lure weight. I imagine it is pretty similar the the Okuma you have referenced.
