Can anyone comment on San Clemente vs. Todos Santos? I've never fished either, but just signed up for the TS trip on June 6-8. The Mexican licenses and only one line in the water sound like a hassle.... Is it worth it (over SC, I mean)? I'm assuming less fishing pressure down there, which is one reason I picked it.
Thanks -Brent Santa Barbara, CA |

Kayaks launched of a vessel with a mex permit do not need a boat permit. If they were launched off of baja coast you would need a permit. As for mex fishing permits, the boat will usually take care of that before disembarking. Sounds like a blast, might jump on one of those.

Brent,
I had good luck at both places on regular cattle boats (Sergios in Ensenada). It seems to me the moon was going towards a new moon, and we killed the ![]() Can't wait to try it on a yak! Good luck, Marco

We have a waxing crescent right now, but both my astrologist and my herbalist told me the signs were good, and I confirmed this with my chicken bone oracle and tarot cards. Signs point to good fishing!
![]() ![]() Just for good measure, I might have my Catholic grandmother say few novenas and light some candles. I find all those are about as good a predictor for my success as anything else! :-D |

If I recall correctly, the law was changed and now no boat permits are required in baja. Not even for "real" boats.

Just spoke with John from the Islander. Said they will sell $15.00 one day fishing permits onboard this evening. bosco

Arrgh! I asked last week and was given the impression that I'd have to get it separately. I had to pay $35 for a one week permit from Squidco. Shoot, that 15 bucks would by a couple more $3 swimbaits that I'm so good at losing...
