X2 I was about to say the same thing. Even with one person, Ive always considered an anchor in the ocean on a kayak an iffy practice. Sometimes you get an unexpected surge and if that anchor line is too tight it could cause trouble.

And to answer your question about the braid/floro, yes use a floro leader. 30- 40#
