SD Bay sand bass?

Hey all, I know things have slowed on the flat brown guys but does anyone have a recent update on the SD Bay? Are the Sand Bass here yet?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.... Haven't been on the water for 3 weeks and starting to feel frantic!!

Go get a pig

The bass have been in the bay. Night bite is your best bet for a hog. Just watch for a night that has a hard ripping current. The faster the current is moving, the better the SB will bite. Don't be afraid to throw big baits. I use 5"-7" baits with 1.5oz-2oz lead heads. A lil unibutter or something never hurts either. Find a piece of structure and stick on it hard. A lot of effort involved, but I promise it will pay off. I make my own baits, and the color that gas produced the best this yr is white/tan/dark green combo

The pigs come out at night

No tape measure or weight, but it was a pig.

I'm going to be hitting up the big bay Sat night. Should be a decent current and hoping for a good bite.

I got an 18" on Thursday. Caught on the bottom with live bait. Hit it no quit rod was bent over and a decent fight to follow. Fun to catch

Hey all, got a Big Bay report for you...

First of all, Well done Linglifter!

I launched out of SI last night and tonight. I am happy to announce that I landed my first Halibut! It was a short but I was still stoked!! The fishing has been pretty good on the bay as far as I'm concerned. Got 3 legal spotties which all are still enjoying their life, 10 shorts and a Scuplin. All these fish were caught on plastics in the afternoon to about 7pm or so both outings. Still on the hunt for the pig Sand bass and have been trying hard to no avail. I have to be honest, fishing the sundowner into the night bite has been quite the treat! I missed more fish than I landed and can't wait for tomorrow after work to give it another go...

As an added addition to my luck I landed my first Lobster Hoop net! Looks brand new and must have been lost within the last couple of days. I hooked it on a 5" sardine colored big hammer. Unfortunately it didn't have any tasty bugs inside..
