LJ Tournament? - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

I don't post much here on Bigwatersedge, but I think it would be a really cool idea to get a 1 day tournament going in LJ. Has this been done before? Could it happen easily? Would anyone want to do it?

La Jolla once hosted the longest running kayak fishing tournament in the world, traditionally held the weekend after Labor Day.

Running a major tournament is a lot of work; permit requirements make the logistics complicated. An informal jackpot is so much simpler.
