Orlando, Lake Bryan Fishing Tips?

Hey guys,
I'm going to be in Florida, around Aug 5-12. We are staying right near, or on?.. the southern tip of Lake Bryan, in the Orlando, FL area.

I'm wondering if there will be easy lake access on the resort property, or maybe even kayak rentals? I'm not packing any gear, but I may bring a 4-piece travel spin rod. I can also pack some heavier reels if there is a hot 1/2-day or 3/4-day boat.. or decent ocean fishing?.. but I'd probably rent and use whatever they have on the boat. Will I need a FL license? (prob yes?)

Its going to be hot & humid, so ideally, I'm hoping there's some nice easy early morning shore fishing for an hour or 2.. with my 9-year old son.

Thanks for any tips!!
-Jay

ps.. I'd also prefer to avoid any alligators.
