Take a couple out to paddle and compare (advise that was given to me).
The fishing models usually come pre-equipped with rod holders (2 to 4) and built wider for primary and secondary stability. Some others like the OK Trident series have a center hatch (called the Rod Pod) you can access the interior of the kayak to hold rods during surf launches and a compartment for a fish finder and the lid acts like a sun shade to minimize glare.
