my 15 year old girl still talks about our trips to "bluegill Bay" as she calls it. Loveland reservoir near Alpine and a bunch of red worms. Fun short hike down and much more adventurous than Santee Square ponds

With the volume of fish there you can't go wrong at Veil Lake. Tons of Crappie and LMB

I love Lake Jennings, from shore or boat, you will never have a bad time at this lake. Get a row boat as Andy stated and fish in the boat cove where the docks are, up in the trees around there. Monster bass and Blue gill.
