my 15 year old girl still talks about our trips to "bluegill Bay" as she calls it. Loveland reservoir near Alpine and a bunch of red worms. Fun short hike down and much more adventurous than Santee Square ponds Also check out Lake Jennings and a row boat rental, you don't need to pay the extra for a motor.
