tech tip of the week.

How to fix a hole in your water proof paddle clothing.

Like a dummy, I somehow stuck my gaff through my paddle pants in transit and got a nice hole near the bottom (butt) about the size of a dime.
It's not a big deal except I want my dry clothes to stay dry. Like this winter when its f'n cold and wet.

Anywho, I used a bicycle tire patch kit (Monkey Grip) and viola fixed in 60 seconds. Seems to be holding up great...just thought I would share.

Good tip John. I did the same thing to my waders. I'll have to check out one of those patch kits.

Cool John! Good thing you weren't wearing them at the time.

Corey if the waders are neoprene, then a wetsuit patch is in order. When I lived in SD, there was a really cool lady in OB that fixed wetsuits under the table. I rode my bike over there, and since I don't live there anymore, my references are all visual, so I'm not much help for directions. Surf shops should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Thanks Zed. They're breathable waders, so the bike patch kit will probably work, but that's a good tip for anyone who needs neopene patched.

I used marine goop and duct tape to patch my breathable waders. It's held up for six+ months now and is very stylish.

Cabo,
good tip- Did you learn that one because of the leak in your fluids container?
