I was thinking about this VHF+GPS combo unit. Sounds like the battery life is only so-so...

PLUS, a small WestMarine rebate.

For $100 I think getting a FF with GPS would be more useful. The blue tooth on this unit sounds like a great feature.

Works okay. I can leave the phone in the bag and call through the radio. It is limited in commands. With my BB I could only redial last number for some reason. Also, my phone battery dies too quickly to rely on this throughout the day. so I don't use it much.

If you get this, do not pair more than one phone with the unit. The first one I had, the pairing function did not want to work anymore. I had to get it replaced via warranty.

So what happens when you get a new phone? I upgrade every 12 months give or take.
