What are your "Must Have" items when going out kayak fishing - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

Great lists but I have 2 more important things on my list that I haven't noticed above: 1) cheap hand held compass (when the fog rolls in and no gps) and 2) be sure to kiss the wife before you leave (good for a few extra hours or an extra day otw)!

GPS don't forget water,also of u get f in a really bad sit your radio.

Excellent point! I would never kayak fish without the compass,even on clear,bright sunny days. A pfd and compass will save you,the rest of the list is just an added luxury..........

Although I forget to use it, I always bring sun screen.

Based on last trips experience (smooth hound shark involved), more than one pair of pliers. I prefer the disposable Home Cheapo bulk pack, since they inevitably go over the edge.
Naturally, if I followed the "tie everything down you want to keep" rule, this wouldn't be an issue.

Isn't it amazing how easy fish kick things our of the kayaks?
