Fiskadoro: Can you give some more details on the NIMH setup you have? I have been thinking about doing the same thing but am unsure of which battery / chrager would be best. Not wanting to jack the thread but I have had lead acids fail me before with little warning even when watching the discharge and charge of them WITH a voltmeter.

Any help would be gretaly appreciated!
