Yesterday the 18th
NICE! I actually drove onto the beach at LJ around 6 hoping to meet up with a few here. That wind was ripping pretty good and definately not optimal for launching a PA. So when the others were not in sight I decided to call it & headed for Shelter Island and the Bay.
I hit the bait barge, breezed Cabrillo for a bit and then a couple of spots that have been good to me in the past & came up empty handed. I Had some fun with the Sentry boat for one of the DDG's that pulled into the de-gausing pier (William P. Lawrence DDG-110), and ended up getting a "Good Luck Chief, hope you catch some big ones" from them. It was a rather unusual a slow day for me in the bay with my total count being a few short hali's, 3 Sand Bass, a Fattie Spottie and a dogish (all released). I still ended up going home with a smile on my face, feeling thankful for being blessed with another peaceful day on the water ![]() Last edited by Chief Gunner; 06-19-2012 at 06:41 PM. |
