Barrett Lake 6-10

We fished this lake last year for 25 bass between us and aimed to double that this year....we got close with 49 (counting a few self releases going for the lip grab yak side )

A few heavy gust periods, but for the most part probably the best weather you could ask for at Barrett. I've heard it can get brutally hot there. The lake is incredibly scenic and every square inch looks "Bassy"!

The key for us yesterday was T-rigged plastics, mostly Roboworms, off points in 10-15', slow drag retrieved...but really a lot of stuff worked in a lot of places...its Barrett after all.

My best fish of the day was 3.5lbs on the Rapala scale. Joe got one close to that too.

Some pics of the bucket (no justice by the pic), some pretty ones with fat bellies, and Joe doing the fly rod pose. No point in more pics...the bass here start to look the same after a while, but are a blast to catch! Enjoy.

Good times!

Barrett spoiled me for sure so I'm off to irvine park to get a reminder of how freshwater fishing should be... Slow

Let's go back!

Nice grade

Nice grade of LMB at Barrett lately. I remember the days of 75 -100 bass all identical 1.5 pounders!! ...probably 20 years ago. Nice job.
