Looks like you've got it set the way you want it now!
I wrap rods and there are two things I would have done. If you are very careful with a dremel tool with a cutting disc and a razor knife I would strip off the hypalon and cut off the reel seat. From there I would re-do the grip with either cork tape or tuna twine or my personal favorite; a basket weave handle. (Phenix does it on some of their jigs sticks to give you an idea of what I'm referring to.) From there just make the handle to the length you want, and if you have room above the foregrip that is left exposed, wrap a new decorative wrap on the blank.
