Welp, I'm part of the club as of this weekend...

I'm picking up a OK Trident this Saturday. I checked it out this afternoon and made a commitment. It comes with a ton of stuff too... The guy bought it in Feb, and only used it once or twice. Has kids now, and needs the money. It's in great condition.

Also picked up a brand new Thule Hulaport for $100 from Craigslist.

I'm excited to get out there and learn the ropes... See you out there soon!

Sweet deal. But I'm curious, how the hell did the guy go from zero to multiple kids in 3 months?

Something about the Twilight zone...

I wrote that a little strangely, I apologize. His excuse was "I never have time to use it because of all the kids." I don't think his wife was too excited about the prospect of being home with all the kids on the weekend by herself.

I just had someone PM me about the price, and I apologize if it didn't go through to you... My reply is not showing up in my sent box.

But....

I'm paying $1000 for it. Includes a fish finder, and darn near everything in those pictures; minus the children's toys and poles.

I figure the boat would cost 1100 new by itself, so with all the extra stuff (paddle, seat, crate +rod holders, scupper plugs, battery in the bow, flux capacitor) probably a $1300-$1500 value if I bought it new.

I'm picking up a second yak today so the wife and kid can come with me. Make it a family thing and you get to stick to passion and keep the Mrs. happy as well. Sick ride you landed there though. I'm jealous, those new ultras look swwweety

Brought her home today! Did some soldering on the wiring to add a disconnect point for the battery, and everything seems to be A-OK.

Being completely honest, carrying the yak on my roof seemed extremely sketchy. Anyone have a trailer they want to sell me? I'm taking a trip to Lake Powell in July, and there's no way I'm putting it up there with such a long drive!
