Yeah that cold water, can put a damper on the fishing but looks like you figured out what they wanted. I was out there last week, the difference was I couldn't even get a bass to commit let alone the halibut I was targeting.

Took some pictures. Sandies, sandies, and more sandies! They were liking the 5" swimbaits.

Matt, where'd you fish for the bass? Plastics or live bait. For me, halibut are too finicky and scarce to target. Plus, I don't have the patience for them.

I hit the kelp and boilers down off the point. It was the day right before the storm rolled in. Maybe it had something to do with the bite shut down. More likely just user error though.

Yeah I don't go north very often and pretty much never in the winter. At for the kelp. The boilers hold, but I've not had much luck on bigger bass there. Admittedly, I haven't put much effort in either. If not fishing the pipe I go south for all the scattered reefs.

Any monday or tuesday Andrew. I usually fish one day off and surf the next, but with a little notice I can change plans.
