My Dad was a Navy Chief and when I was a kid, I went on 3 separate "Tiger Cruises". That's where the dependant flies to Hawaii (the last stop of their 'Westpac' trip), and rides on the Ship back to San Diego. 90% of the trip, there was NOTHING but big blue surrounding you. It is an awesome sight, when you know you're safe, of course.
