Yeah, I gave up completely. My dirty little secret is that I actually like codding, even though I rarely resort to it. I even make my own rock-cod rigs, complete with gaudy beads, feathers and 7/0 hooks. Good foot estimating skills, I do wear a 12. The red went 7 lbs 12 oz. It was kind of a freak. Shocked me when I put it on the scale.



Here it is about to be sliced



While a 7 lb red is decent and tasty consolation prize, I can't say I was satisfied when I got back to the beach. I started the day I was hoping for a fish that could puke up a red that size
