Kayak insurance help?

So I have my Malibu insured under my Renters policy, but USAA will only cover up to $1000 for a kayak. I'm curious if anyone has insured their Pro Angler?
I tried to add it to my Valuable Person Property policy, but that didn't work. I'm mostly worried about theft or god forbid it comes flying off the roof.

Thanks in advance.

While transporting mine it is covered under my State Farm Vehicle Insurance Policy (boating rider). While stored @ home renter's insurance covers it. (but I only have a Pro Explorer).

My kayaks are covered fully through my renters insurance. All I have to do is show a receipt where and how much I bought it and they pay me for the price a new model. I went through Gieco, like $225 a yr. Had my truck broke into; rod and reels, tackle, FF, and a bunch of other stuff was stolen and they replaced everything. My renewal rate did not go up any either even after filing a claim.

Give em a call

Usaa generally covers everything you can prove to have purchased. last year when that whale flipped me they had a check to me in 5 days to cover all of my lost rods, which i think came to about 2400. I would talk with your agent. It might be helpful if your auto insurance was with them too, I really dont know. I do know that they are just about the finest insurers anywhere because they keep their risk pool down by primarily insuring military and family.
