some one take a picture of this...

.... Another helpful hint, if you are using a trap hook, is to hook the bait in opposite directions with each of the hooks.

My mind is now visually working

You mentioned tying the spectra with a Palomar knot, I right there with you. I saw a program that featured a knot tying contest and the Palomar won with braided line. The only problem that I find is that when using a three way swivel that is leadered up you have to make a larger loop to pull everything through. I solve that problem by tying spectra to a cross-lock snap then clip the three way to it, very fast and no more knot tying on the water.

If you put the hook through the nose from the baits right side to it's left, then put the trap hook through from the left to right. That gives you a hook point protruding from either side of the bait. Kinda get the hooking ablility of a Trebble without some of the drawbacks.

Another thing I have found very helpful is using some type of method for preventing the bait from rehooking itself. Lost lots of fish after a short fight only to see that they were never really hooked, just holding on to the bait that was double hooked with no point showing. Weedless hooks are my choice for this right now. I have been using Gamakatsu WG weedless wire hooks, but am now attempting to make my own.

Great video. It's similar to the set ups I use for deeper water. In the back bays or shallower water I like a carolina sliding sinker rig. I have gotten away from the trap hook though. I found I caught more shorts but not more legal fish with teh rear treble. These shorts were also more torn up and took longer to unhook and return to the water. I also got tired of of gut hooking sand bass with the stinger. Thats just me. Mike
