Wrong kind
I fished the OEX bass tournament at Shelter Island today. I didn't get to prefish so wasn't expecting much. Heard that the sandbass bite was really slow so that left me with two options. Plan a, get a limit of the smaller spotties then go looking for the bigger sandies. Plan b, just look for the bigger sandies. I opted for plan b. Hit all the spots that have given up nice fish in the past for nada. Finally found some fish that were willing to bite. But they were the baby version. Only got two barely legal bass. Caught all my fish long lineing a 1 1/2 ounce spinnerbait. Including this guy.
42 inches and 28 pounds. Very fun fish on bass gear but didn't help with my score. So after filleting ( or whatever you want to call it ) I noticed what looked like hair in the flesh. Can someone please tell me what these are? Is the fish safe to eat? Thanks guys. |
