Leo Carillo Over Labor Day

I'm going camping with the family at Leo Carillo over labor day. Will probably bring the kayak and sonar, I'm thinking no live bait tank just to keep it simpler.

I will probably just rig up for bottom fishing to keep it simple. Will probably use some type of jig or swimbait and/or dropper loop squid strips. I've read a couple of earlier posts on the subject, but would be interested in any tips specific to this time of year.

Here are the questions:
Best Jigs?
North or south from the campground?
How far?
Water depth this time of year?
What is with the 805 reference in the other posts on this? Secret handshake society?

If any of you gents will be out that weekend maybe I'll see you out there.

Thanks, Tom
