Left Baby Beach at 5:40 to cloudy skies and a very light breeze. Got to the Pipe and started in about 45'. First cast I got a legal calico which turned out to be my only one for the day. Plus, he tore the hell out of my thumb. Got a short on my second cast and it took until 10:00 to get 2 more short calicoes, a very short WSB, and a mackerel. Fire avocado flurry's were the color of choice today.
Not a lot of action obviously, and not a lot of life in general. Bait was sparse and the bird life was almost nil. Water was 67º+. The biggest issue was that there was zero current. With no water moving it's wasn't too surprising that the fish didn't want to come out and play. Highlight of the day was meeting Phatford on the Pipe and talking to him for a while. Nice to put another face to a name. Hopefully he did better than me.
