Looking to get some pointers.

Just got my first kayak ever and am looking for help from anyone willing to teach on rigging and general kayak safety on the water. I got a Hobie Outback and live in Torrance. I won't be fishing for a while but would like to join anyone on the water so I can get a feel for how I should rigg my kayak for fishing. The primary area I will be fishing will be P.V due to the proximity to my house but will be willing to go anywhere near by. I am pretty excited to get started so this weekend would be ideal.
