La Jolla 11/04 AMs - BEAVERLAMB!!!!...
...is what I was looking for.
Pounded the sand the whole morning for not a single strike. Whatz up masta?? Bait was tough at the pier. It took me a while to scrape 3 greenies. That was 2 more than I needed. I heard the same was down South – you could scrape a few Spanish in the kelp. Water 64ish; not as clear as it’s been last week. NW swell has kicked up a bit; 3+ rollers in short intervals. Scripps Pier: (ok, it never was as bad as it looks on this pic… ): At one point, a bunch of birds started schooling up above me and John. They probably wanted to work those 2 greenies in my bait tank. Started blowing from NW at 10:00, 7/8-ish knots. Threw a towel at 11 something when another one of my reels broke down. I'm down 4, and have only 1 reel in working condition - the new one I bought last week.  Heard of some right kind caught, the young ones tho. Their stories. Heard of thick bones down South. Heard some folks had fun with rockfish. Surf was not too bad. Even I made it in & out like a pro. Good seeing ya’ all.
