First time out for son... - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

My son has shown interest in going kayak fishing with me - been asking him if he wants to go for months now. Then one day after I came home from surf fishing and I was about to fillet my catch (he thought I was on the kayak) he asked me when I'm going next. That next is tomorrow, Sunday morning.

I plan to take him to LJ for his first outing. He's athletic, has surfed a few times and is ok with the water. I'm thinking I can rent a kayak in LJ from one of the local shops, but that means getting out later, and those yaks are short and no rod holders. So, I'm going to come right out and ask a bold question: anyone willing to share/loan a spare kayak for a day? Yeah, I know that's asking a lot.
