NPH 6/12/11 AM

Hey all,

I just graduated, and while my dad and I could not take any dream fishing trips, he promised that he would make time to hit the saltwater with me more often around here. So, he decided to rent a kayak and hit NPH with me in the morning. (Sport Chalet has great rates! $40 for 1 day plus a 2 day grace period to drop off, so 3 days essentially; and he rented a nice Prowler 13!) Anyways:

We launched around 7 am after getting a late start, and fished until 11 am as we had prior obligations with family. The conditions were great, except for the tidal movement: overcast skies, little wind, and non-murky water (for NPH).

We did very well for the slow tide, with my dad scoring the bass trifecta multiple times (including the biggest Calico I have seen in the harbor) and I catching plenty of nice-sized Spotties. We were using 1/4 leadheads and 3" BH's with Uni Butter. The most effective colors were Key Lime and Christmas Tree.

Unfortunately, I only have one picture, so I'm not asking you to believe any of what I just said.

Also, here is my new weapon courtesy of a friend on SCSF and Turner's Shimano sale!
