Pyramid lake Striperfest
Saturday was the FNN Striperfest good time tourney. I made it out on the kayak, the winds were managable for the morning but they picked up pretty good around 1030. About noon I had to beach and fish from shore. I waited for what I thought was a lull in the wind to paddle back to the launch and had to fight some pretty hard wind head onwith wind swells crashing over my bow. Had a pretty hard paddle for about an hour and by the time I made it back to the lauch my shoulder was blown out pretty bad and I decided to pop some vicodin left over from my last shoulder surgery and pack up.
I didn't stay for the weigh in but the winner of the event stringer weight was just over 18lbs and the biggest fish was a in the 3#. No pig stripers were caught but still a good day. I caught 3 schoolies myself all in the 12-15" range (perfect taco size). |
