Launched at 6:00 A.M. Headed to the pier to make bait. First drop
I picked up 5 small bonito. Moved closer to the pier and picked up tons of perfect greenbacks. I filled the bait tank and headed out to the point trolling a lively greenback for no takers. I stopped and threw the Krock for a while. Decided to move outside. I started paddling and the reel with the greenback goes off. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ I waited and set the hook and it was fish on! It was definitely the right kind! I fought it for a few minutes. It made 3 nice runs. The new Okuma Convector 30 CS was working perfectly. Then the fish spit the hook. I move outside only to feed the furbags several greenbacks. We met up with Jackie and Bob. They had been doing well outside. We moved inside off of the hotel. I picked up a 5+ lb bone trolling the Krock. Drew picked up a nice bonito on the Rebel. We went in by the can and caught a couple of small bonito on the Krock. Off the water by 12:30. It was pretty calm today. Water was anywhere from 69-76 degrees. Sunny and nice today with little to no wind. The beach was not that crowded today. Saw a couple of yellows on the beach that guys had landed. One by Yanni. Yanni it was good talking with you! Didn't land a yellow today, but had fun trying. Robert |
