This line from PAL's post caught my eye.

"Interestingly, the California Attorney General's Office has illegally declined routine service of papers in the complaint, forcing attorneys to initiate default proceedings against the state."

I am not clear on the time frame of this statement but if I recall correctly, our current Governor was the AG for the past few years. If his office was unwilling to serve papers in this case, does that tell us something about what we can expect from the new administration on this issue?
