12/31 My last session of the year. . .

Woke up around 6:30 am to frost on the car and yak. Burrr. Wore my hodgeman neoprene waders, couldn't/wouldn't sit in 57 degree water. Between the waders, neoprene gloves, a beanie, and layers of cotton, It felt like a summer's day.

Out of baby beach around 7 am ish. Water was much cleaner than last Friday.

No problems catching bait. Smelt to nice sized macks. A few outings ago a nice guy showed and gave me a sliding trap rig. So easy to adjust to my varied bait sizes. I rigged it with some lively bait, dropped it on the bottom and wham. Caught a nice sand bass. That was about it.

Off the water around 12:30 pm. There was definitely swell on the water. I think I may have gotten a touch of some sea sickness. That's something I didn't expect and it made for a tough paddle in.

Wishing you all a great and safe new year.
