Lake Murray
Rogersmith inspried me to dust off the 2# rod and put the yak into some freshwater. Murray with a fresh 2k# stocking of trout was an easy call. The water was coffee stained so throwing the iron turned out to be a wasted effort. I switched over to my time tested rainbow glitter powerbait (I am not too proud) and was rewarded with a limit plus two decent cats probably stirring from the heavy rains (lake level is incredibly high). I thought I had hooked a mega trout before the first cat surfaced and was guided into the net.
The arm I fished was mine pretty much the entire trip. The day was beautiful, the osprey were active and the wind was nowhere to be found. Murray's a current option. |
