A three hour tour
Went to LJ yesterday. Easy bait at the pier. ( thanks to the crew
on top of the peir for guiding me to the bait boil. Put one high and one low and headed to the outside can. Lost a couple of baits to some quick zings across the canyon finger. As soon as I get to the old kelp line, my bottom line goes off. Gets caught on the bottom and I pulled a littel too hard. As I'm resetting up the bottom line, My flyline takes off like a rocket. Before I got turned into the fish I was down to a third of the spool. I could feel that the hook up was solid, so I told myself just don't touch that drag. The fight went on for some time with the fish makeing some big runs and a few tows. Got it to color with some fight still in her. Waited untill she was tired and guided her onto my gaff. No one around to show, when a pb (Sea Star) came up along side. Thanks Dinnis for helping me put her in my front hatch. [imghttp://momentoffame.com/photopost/data/501/medium/IMG_03581.JPG][/img] |
