La Jolla one lure challenge report
Beautiful day, flat launch and Mola Mola jumping for joy to see Me. First time I had ever seen them in years of going to LJ.
I went straight out from the launch to an area that I have caught rockfish before. I dropped down a pink one and at 50' it stopped. Reeled and it ended up being a Maczilla, fun on my light rod. Sent It down again tithe bottom and more Maczillas. Moved to a new area and caught sandies on the pink and the charteuse. Dropped down the blue one and it only only got small taps. To another rockpile and caught reds and copppers. The pink was the winner today. The red never made it out if the box. Fun to try something different. I may try it with some other lure, not sure which one. Give it a go guys. |
