Washed blood off the Boat last night....
Last trip on my Extreme with a 4pm launch at the Shores as Phreshwon paddled out thru small surf and I paddled out thru large, unforgiving chest high waves that came out of nowhere! Knew it was already a good day because we had snagged the FIRST TWO parking spots at the launch on Avenida de La Playa.... and my college bound son's gas leak on his car in San Francisco had only cost $75 to fix (NOTHING on a car is only $75!)
Made candybar breenbacks at 75 ft. depth inside the point, and pinned one on to work the immediate area. Two minutes later both of us were on in 85 ft., after passing by a large boil of YT chasing bait. 10 minute fight, and we each landed almost identical 18 lber's. Celebrated by paddling back out to the same area, poppong a beer (thanks for the alcholic inspirations, Brad), and dropping another bait over the side. Marc was on again with 30 minutes with an even larger YT, and i followed with a hookup within 10 minutes ater he landed his. Phreshwon's two were 18 and 20 lbs.. mine weighed 18 and 15. All four fish had shoulders and put up a good fight. landed dry right after dark. Figures I sell the Extreme, take it out for one last ride, and break my long streak with a double. Lots of blood on the deck for the new owner. I'll be in another kayak soon enough, and I've always got the jetski to fish on... |
