On a Roll in May as well
After getting my first Yellowtail of the year on Friday afternoon with a surface iron I took a business prospect out Tuesday, 5/18 afternoon and got one on a Greenback Mackerel. We did not get on the water until 2:30pm and only caught one Greenback on the way out. We tried Spanish Macs in vain as others hooked-up all around us on Greenies and Sardines. Finally around 6pm, we made a 28 pound 37" long Homeguard that kicked my butt for 20 mins without even getting into the kelp. My buddy got hit but did not seem to let it run long enough. The bite seems to be a pm thing as an am shift guy came in only seeing Barries on the surface which we did not see.
