5/25 SD Bay mixed bag plus flattie steak for dinner!
Been at least a month since I fished off the yak, which is WAY too long in my book so.........called wingman #1 (Sherm) and met up at SI at 0600 for what turned out to be a decent morning of angling.
Target today was the flat kind, (needless to say mission accomplished ![]() Decided to move into deeper water and dropped down a jerk shad on a dropper loop. Halfway into that drift I watched as my rod dipped like i was snagged on the bottom. Started taking drag so I know it weren't no eel grass ![]() ![]() Fished for about another hour or so and caught more sandies, spotties, a rattler, and a pop tart flattie. Called it a morning at 1100. Counts for me were: 2 halibut (1 keeper), 8 spotted bay bass, 5 sand bass, 1 sculpin, couple greenbacks. All feesh C&R'ed except the legal flattie (just served him up for dinner for the family). All fish caught using chart leadhead and clear speck. green scampi smother in UNI Butter and misc. GULP! baits including chart. swimming mullet, lime tiger shrimp, and nuclear chicken jerk shad. Scott was the spottie king today with about 18 I think. Good fishing with ya as usual bro ![]() Peace, Spyder |
