A decade old, but timeless info...

I found this article on a google search "how to dislodge a stuck lobster net". Just curious to see what was out there on the subject. I can't be the only guy losing nets (maybe I am).

While I didn't get my answer from the article, It does have good info on the subject.

Go figure "Don't" #5 must be how I manage to lose nets. I'm guessing they "hop scotch" into not so good spots.

If you are ever are in a situation where your net is stuck, here is what I've done to successfully retrieve them.
1) tie on additional rope and pull from different angles. the idea is to slide it out of what is holding it down. the longer the rope the bigger the angle. speed helps motivate it free!
2) if that doesn't work bind the rope, and keep hooping the other nets.
3) inbetween pulls, go back to the stuck net, Repeat #1.

So far, I've been able to save 3 nets over last two seasons.

Happy hooping.
