La Jolla 8.18.18
Launched at 5:30am. Bait very hard to find....made 2 spanish macks and lost both, 1 to a hard, short bite and the other to bottom.
Gave up on bait and tied on a 100 gram sardine colored flat fall and went 2 miles out from the point and 1 mile west to look for new structure to fish. Found plenty of structure between 90-175 ft of water and everytime i dropped down, i had a hit. Very little kelp meant i didnt lose any lures for a change. Water temp went down a couple degrees averaging 76. Didnt really see anyone hook up on anything special. Divers reported not seeing much. Took 2 calicos, 4 rockfish, and 1 sheepshead home. Released all bass over 20". All fish caught on 1 flatfall
