Hobie's new Marine Mat
Hobie has a new product in their parts and accessories catalog and it's called Marine Mat. As one of the Fishing Team Top Guns I was offered a great deal to try a set on my new team boat.
It's a precut padded material with adhesive backing. and it comes in a few colors...I choose the Grey and Charcoal color for the camo PA but the color is so cool looking on the camo boat that I couldn't cover it and I decided to upgrade my older yellow PA with the kit. I asked Kevin Nakada at Hobie for some advise on the prep and he suggested pressure washing the boat first. ![]() The next step was to remove the factory installed black pads... ![]() and clean up all the glue residue with some de-natured alcohol... ![]() Laying out all the precut parts was next... ![]() The pads are adhesive backed and really easy to apply... ![]() I used a paint roller to be sure the adhesive was pushed down into the plastic... ![]() Be sure to press all along the edges to make contact and a good seal... ![]() I put a small pencil mark at the edge of a few pieces to make sure they fit on the spot perfectly... ![]() I think it came out pretty nice and the old girl looks like new....THANKS HOBIE AND MARINE MAT..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
