It needs to be returned to where you got it BEFORE it expires. It is good for 7 days and MUST be turned in to the office you got it from. If not then the next time you try and cross into Mexico to get one YOU are in their computer system and have to pay a fine of US $120.00 if you did not turn it in on time. And in Mexicali, it is a bitch to find parking to turn it in. Each person needs their passport and the Fmm to turn it in. One person CANNOT turn them in for the group.
If you buy the 180 day Fmm you just turn it in when you get your new one. And again the 180 day was $30 USD.
