6'6" rod too short?
I really like my Daiwa VIP 270 for a 20# rod, and I might want to try the 865H as a 40# yoyo/dropper loop rod. I want a little more backbone than an 870, and I think the 865 would be perfect.
The length gives me pause. I don't know if I am going to miss that extra six inches when I have to swing the rod out over the bow of the 15' Prowler if a fish runs under the boat. On the other hand, it's not a huge difference in length. Anybody have success or failure stories with a 6'6" rod ? |
