Victory at Sea Newport 6/10
By far, the sketchiest coditions I've pedaled in.
Checked the reports, MSW, Bouy Weather etc and the prediction was 1 -2' with winds building to unfishable by 10a. Figured I could get in a few solid hours for some Rockies. Dude. By 8:30 it was a washing machine. Wind up big and more like 4 - 5'ers. Oh well, already on the fish and 4 away from my limit so stayed on them lol. Had to keep chasing them down but got my last 4 in about a half hour. Headed in to the channel and literally let the wind take me back to the launch. All done and loaded up by 10:30. All Reds, same mold as the one in the pic. Got em between 185 - 195', water temp was 62.5. Also, on the way out I metered some really nice marks in 150' milling at about 75', hoping they were some Yellows. Didn't make any bait on the way out so dropped a Colt Sniper on them about 5 times with no takers and then lost them.
