World Record Broomtail Grouper is official!
Hey Guys,
Just got the official call from IGFA. They have recognized my 108.9 lb Broomtail Grouper as the new IGFA All Tackle record for the species. I'm super stoked and honored to be in the record books! Since my catch back in June we have had several big fish episodes that went un landed and have also had several other catches in the 40lb class. I feel confident in saying that Cedros Island is definitely home to a large grouper population. Thank you very much to seasamuari (Kevin Nakada) for all his help in making this a reality plus cleaning this monster and making a great dinner. Special thanks also goes out to John Bretza (Okuma) for allowing me to field test the Komodo baitcaster. A very strong reel for sure. The Phenix M-1 Inshore rod held up really well. There is a reason why all my rods are Phenix. Thanks Alex! To capture such a prize on surface iron is amazing. Soo stoked Justin over at Kickerfishing had hooked me up right before that trip. The kicker 25 held up well. Mint/blue/grey is my new favorite color! |
