Poll: Is the Fishing License a protection for Fish?
To me the fishing license is not a protection for fish, its the revenue collected that helps protect the fish.
If you go to court that is what they are going to argue about, you can argue that they can get the revenue from somewhere else. But it's not going to happen. In my Opinion... you will take this to court.... and CDFW will argue that they need money. The defendant will say get it from our sales tax, because you just made it a crime to fish without this piece of paper (fishing license) and its going to go back and forth, and since the Supreme court has already ruled that its not an absolute right. and the court will probably favor CDFW.
