La Jolla 7/29

It was a beautiful day on the water. Waves were tiny and the Sun was warm. I didn't catch jack besides macs and a pair of little checkers. Bait was sparse but spaniards could be found around kelp if you worked at it. There's just not much of that. There was floating grass all over, making trolling bait a job of paddling and picking. The grass got much better after the tide turned out. The dogs were merciful to me on a day with few baits in the tube. I trolled a mac right by a napping dog floating on his side with his flipper straight up. He didn't move an inch. Every person that I talked to was getting skunked but I did see one yellow come up on the beach right behind me. I tried to take a pic of it in my mirror but people kept getting in the way.
