Didn't get completely skunked today. Hooked up with this fatty on the way in... Also had a reverse sleigh ride on the troll...had my drag hammered down and I wasn't in feed. Looked back and my pole was bent and the yak started going reverse. Lasted a whole 15 seconds. Saw two big yellow turds on my ff. Got back in neutral and reeled in the slack line....i thought my line broke but all knots and hook intact minus a green back. Saw a dog pop up about 20 yards smiling at me. Confident in my rigs and gear now...definitely ready for some big yts. Also hooked up with what felt like a gbsb again...patient this time but came unhooked. Rig and gear intact so I'm stoked and confident with my gear now. The calico was released....heard they make great tacos but heard these guys are slow to grow. May he live many more years
