Catching Fresh Squid

Is this a time to be catching our own fresh squid to use as bait?

If so, what's the technique for that?

I have glowing torpedo shape squid lures with the barbs at the end. Some of them are hooked together in long strings. I've never tried using them. (Yard Sale collections)

My sabiki hooks have often been filled to capacity lately, so I've been using mackerels. I want to learn how to catch fresh squid bait when the time is right.

Any advice to explore on this subject?

EDIT: Oops, sorry. Meant to put this in General.
