Starting New Years right.... Part #2

OK, talk about one lucky angler. And he really is pretty darn skilled, as he tries new techniques and did win the California Youth Bass Fishing Championship in 2015, for kids up to 15. He got to compete in the US championships in Arkansas.

Anyway, I posted earlier about catching his first Kayak Yellowtail on New Years Day.

Well, we tried last Sunday on a powerboat, just to see what happens. All the day before he kept saying how much he wants to catch a White Sea Bass, as we saw two on our friend Chris' kayak. And they taste so good!

Well...... get to the area, only with dropper loops set up and frozen squid. We see two kayaks and a power boat hooked up on YT. We are excited. After moving a couple times, his line gets bit, and after 10-12 minutes.... this comes in at 31 pounds.

So, January 1, first Kayak YT (below), and 10 days later, first WSB, but not on a kayak. We did, however, give some squid to a kayaker who did not have any, so that may be the karma jolt needed.

What a start to 2016!!! Cheers all!
Now time for a big Halibut! We like those big butts!
